It is a great honour and privilege for me to be the Head teacher of such a wonderful school.  It was obvious to me from the moment I first taught at Cubitt Town Junior School that this was a very special community that had at its heart a deeply caring ethos.

Cubitt Town Junior School is a happy, friendly school situated within the Isle of Dogs. We are committed to providing the best possible learning environment to ensure that the achievement of every single child matches their potential. I am blessed with good quality staff who are dedicated and enthusiastic, and with an incredibly supportive set of governors who give up their time voluntarily to take on the awesome task of managing the school.

As an inclusive school that promotes a set of values that are enduring and seeks not only to achieve excellence intellectually, but also creatively, it is my belief that there is much more to school life than the rigour of school exams.  At Cubitt Town Juniors we strive to nurture our students in order that they may become caring, compassionate human beings ready to make a positive contribution to the wider community when they leave our care while challenging them to ensure they achieve their full potential.

We understand that children achieve best when home and school work together. Effective communication and our ‘Open Door Policy’ underpin our strong parent relationship. Together with an outstanding Community House which offers opportunities for parent to receive guidance about the best ways to support children.

The 6C’s underpin all the work we do here at Cubitt Town Junior School;

Care - We are a caring school . We aim to support all learners to be caring ,responsible and active citizens

Challenge - Provide high quality teaching and learning using imaginative ways of delivering a broad curriculum to stimulate and challenge all of our children

Curiosity - We will work with parents, families and the local and wider community to ignite children’s curiosity and encourage a love for learning

Collaboration - We work together cooperatively to be the hub of our local community and an integral part of our society

Communication  - We have a voice and we listen to others

Commitment - We are committed to go the extra mile to provide the best possible education for our pupils.

I look forward to meeting you at forthcoming events and working with you and your children in the years ahead.
